AI adoption in the GCC is moving fast, but its value creation in the workplace is moving slowly.
According to a McKinsey & Company report, 84% of organisations in the region have adopted AI in at least one business function. Yet only 11% qualified as “value realisers.”
That gap matters because it means AI adoption is no longer the problem. Most organisations already have pilots, tools, budgets, and leadership interest.
The harder question is whether they can successfully redesign work, governance, and workforce behaviour fast enough to turn adoption into measurable value.

PwC Middle East Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey found that 75% of regional employees had used AI tools during the previous year, while most respondents reported improvements in productivity, creativity, and work quality.
Saudi public-sector data points in the same direction. Public Sector AI Adoption Index found strong enterprise AI access among Saudi public servants, yet many employees still reported difficulty integrating AI into existing systems.
